Nokia N9 (RM-680) QWERTY MeeGo Magic Leaked

#
The Nokia N9 started life back in June as a weird little leaked video that showed nothing more than an amazing design concept. Well, it seems the Nokia N9 video was indeed a real device and the first leaked photos of the Nokia N9 has hit the internet and what a device it looks. Read on to find out more about the Nokia N9 QWERTY MeeGo device.

The Nokia N9 is a slider device with what looks like a full aluminium body, sliding device and amazing QWERTY keyboard. This Linux based device could well be perceived as a Nokia Booklet 3G Mini as it certainly looks as though it could be a full-bloodied portable computer.

Very little is known about the Nokia N9 other than it’s a prototype built in Finland and very much a pre-production sample.

Now, the Nokia N9 images have turned up in China, so what’s to stop this device simply being a clone? Well, Engadget seems to have been doing a little digging around, proving their excited about the Nokia N9 themselves, and revealed the device to indeed be a MeeGo 6 powered device, as well a rocking up with a Nokia device number of RM-680, which is used internally as its development code.

So, what do you think, will the Nokia N9 be making an appearance at Nokia World 2010 next month or does this device look a little too pre-production to be ready to be shown to the wider world? Whatever the case, this handsome looking handset is set to cause a stir when it finally lands – let us know what you think in the Comments below.

Nokia N8 tips up online

FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia said Sim Free N8 handsets will be available from 26 August, with one website advertising it at £420 including VAT.

Of its many features it is the N8's 12 Megapixel camera with Xenon flash that can record HD quality video that is most anticipated. Beyond that it boasts a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 16GB of memory, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and its OS is Symbian^3.

Its 1200mAh battery will deliver 390 hours of standby time, 12 hours of talk time for GSM networks, 50 hours of music playback and 7 hours for playing video.

Sadly the delayed Symbian^3 operating system is the latest in a long line that have failed to capture the public's imagination. Windows Mobile, anyone? And Nokia is not even using Symbian^3 for its other mobile devices. It's opting instead for its Meego OS, which it is developing with Intel. Nokia even admits the N8 will be its only device that will use Symbian^3.

Meanwhile T-Mobile has only a registration page for potential customers, as does Vodafone.
