AN Adelaide man has admitted creating a computer virus capable of accessing bank accounts both here and overseas - sparking a worldwide red alert.
Anthony Scott Harrison, 20, of Black Forest, appeared in the District Court today.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of modifying computer data to cause harm or inconvenience, Adelaide Now reported.

He also admitted two counts of possessing or controlling data to commit a serious computer offence.

Finally, he pleaded guilty to one count of dishonestly manipulating a machine for his own benefit.

Previously, the court has heard Harrison's virus struck 3000 computers in Australia and overseas.

Harrison's software was designed to capture banking details and credit card information.
